Shop Class: For students in grades 7-12
Every week, the students gather together for their weekly Tool Talk in which they delve into one specific tool, learning the function and safety of that tool.
The students pick from a variety of pre-selected projects that are designed to teach them tools and woodworking techniques.
Every student participates in a safety and behavior orientation on their first day. Safety is our #1 priority here at the BCW!
The students are encouraged to make projects that can sell. These projects are posted online, taken to vendor shows, and placed in a local retail store named Casa Bella Market. This teaches entrepreneurial skills AND the students get 80% of the sale!
Our goal is for students to stay in our program until they graduate high school. We want to graduate students who have employable woodworking skills, lifelong DIY abilities, and confidence in themselves to succeed.
